25 years of Real Genius

Monday, May 10th, 2010

With the 25th anniversary of the movie Real Genius approaching in August, we celebrate movie history. Today May 10 2010, (1985 in the movie) Chris Knight (Val Kilmer) solves the power issue shortly after a meltdown at the lab. Exceeding the 5 megawatts requested by Professor Hathaway (Sci-fi Comedy extraordinaire William Atherton), Knight’s solution using bromide is hotter than the sun.

We recently were on a show featuring Geeks. It was a platform to help gain visibility for what we do, but where the heavy hand of revision dictates what the viewer consumes, I feel compelled to clear any innocent sophistry, a natural outcome of the power of editing. Thank you for all the support and watching the show last night. It meant a lot. Funny thing, I didn’t get to watch it last night. I was under the knife as the show was airing. My friends who took over the surgical waiting room pointed at the TV and said, “You know that girl is getting operated on right now in there.” Ah, the one minute life of living Z-list large. We watched the show over Raspberry ice + a delicious Shasta this morning. Thank you again to Ted Reinstein and Bob (Chronicle), the residents and staff at Mt. Auburn hospital, and uber rock star surgeon Dr. Bartlett. Big thanks to ASM big Brass Rat alum and Janet for the HD hookup! May our Polygon-ous support keep us strong, visible, and humble. We had a killer rap (Front Snap Kick), paper model train demos, a Geek Atomic Model explanation, and much more that didn’t make the cut so make sure to check back for the ‘DVD extras.’ Good stuff. Much respect, 8g-appendix.
