Dinosaur GraveyardToday’s travel hot spot brings us to Patagonia. Vast land of steppe-like plains and unparalleled beauty, Patagonia has captured the imagination as an exotic home for the mystical. So it’s no surprise that in a Smallville screen cap, a Phantom freed from the Phantom zone is zipping around Patagonia. It really isn’t much of a stretch from the folklore of giants wandering the land during Magellan’s time. Now, dinosaur graveyards are a big draw (photo: Joao Pina, NYT). Big family fun. Educational. Good “clean” dirt-digging fun.

Today in the Science Section of The New York Times was a review of the new Design and the Elastic Mind exhibit at the MoMA. The exhibit runs through May 12, 08 and is definitely something to check out if you are in NYC.

Fish Camouflage

Camo fish, o’ cuttlefish, chameleon extraordinaire. Dr. Roger Hanlon of Woods Hole, MA works the powers of the cuttlefish like a Sith lord pushing them to their max. The fish responded to the black and white checkerboards in the tubs. “We can give them any hideous background,” he said, “and they will try to camouflage.” Learn more here.
